In the last few years, the governments that have come in rapid succession were not given the chance to implement their programs. Political parties and movements appear confused and divided, even within themselves. In this situation, large corporations, lobbies, social classes, clans, and various political factions all too often manage to block any initiative, each protecting its own interests, big or small. All this also creates a fertile substratum for the development of organized crime and devastating widespread corruption. The present government is doing its best with courageous, ambitious programs in various fields, by staggering the planned actions over a relatively short period of time. Our country must prepare immediately to face a challenging future and to therefore adopt appropriate institutional structures as well as a political and administrative system capable of governing democratically, to quickly make the increasingly crucial decisions.
We strongly trust that the actions planned will include paying urgent and vital attention to what is happening to the primary sector.
